Responsibilities
The Operations Manager is accountable for, but not limited to, the following:
• Manage and populate boards (daily)
• Creation of daily job packs and management of Works Managers on call staff and works
• Manage and populate the lookahead boards and daily productivity
• Obtain midday progress reports and end of shift feedback From Works Managers or Supervisors
• Taking care of your own health and safety, and others who might be affected by your actions
• Day to day activities as per your contract of employment
• Conduct weekly toolbox talks
• Client liaison
• Ensure vehicles inspections are carried out correctly and on time
• Check and approve weekly timesheets ready to be submitted to payroll.
• Provide health and safety leadership to your team and promote behavioural safety improvements
• Supervise Managers diaries and coordinate with the daily and lookahead boards
• Attend weekly managers meetings providing details of issues, feedback and resolutions
• Site visits prior to new works commencing
• Communicating policies, procedures and business updates to colleagues
• Managing vehicle and equipment defects and inspections
• Chair weekly Managers meeting
• Liaising with Managers in Identifying risks and controls that may affect works and report back to the depot manager all issues and resolutions
• Conduct disciplinary meetings, investigations liaising with HSE manager
• Manage holiday requests and on call engineers as well as employee sickness
• Liaise with Manager to agree scopes of work and work scheduling
• Liaise with managers to ensure paperwork is completed
• Uphold the core company values, inspire, and encourage the same throughout the team
• Ensure all close calls, accidents and incidents reporting/investigations are carried out as per the company’s procedures (in conjunction with the HSE Manager)
• Ensure sufficient and competent resources are in place as identified by managers to ensure efficient and timely delivery of clients works
